Ireland, Burren Way, 2011

Start from the Ballyvaughan Wood loop trailhead directly opposite the entrance to the road. It takes you past the primary school, which is also part of the Burren Way. Follow the various purple arrows across a series of stone stiles and wooded sections. Make sure to follow the arrows painted on the rocks through the open sections.

Exit into a field that takes you onto a surfaced roadway where the loop turns left. Follow the Burren Way to the right and up the hill. At the crossroads, turn left and follow the paved road to the Newtown castle.
